DaytonaBeach_6680Locomobile-200_small.jpg auto post cards available from Judnick.com"6680. LOCOMOBILE VS. BICYCLE, ORMOND--DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA.  DETROIT PHOTOGRAPHIC CO., PUBLISHER" undivided back postcard mailed 1905 to Miss Sarah Mead in East Hampton Connecticut, mild corner wear, sender's pen started to run out of ink on the front. Unusual subject matter. Hard to find, especially at this price: $15.00 bafdu

"A farm tractor attachment to fit all / standard makes and sizes / of automobiles // Auto Tractor pulling gang plow, four bases" with the back printed message 'you ever see AN Auto Tractor? / (SEE OVER)', postcard addressed but not mailed to 531 Vinton St. City & annotated on message side "Fair, Sept. 1914" (which places it as an Indiana State Fair item held at Indianapolis). This ludicrous idea was short-lived: it is doubtful that the poor-quality printing of this advertisement or its content (view obscured, no manufacturer detail, no claims ...) helped gather any prospective customers or investors. Later, the Three-P Auto Tractor Company did incorporate in Davenport Iowa in 1917, and was a founding member of the National Tractor Attachment Association. Rare. $100.00 i(i)aa

Auto_PhotoGebrKnozer-200_small.jpg automobile postcard available from Judnick.com"Photo Gebr. Knozer, Wien, IV., Favoritenstr.4 / Ruf 50-606" with caption taken from violet handstamp on back, side view of 4 people seated within a luxury Hispano-Suiza automobile, a butler spreading a lap robe on the rear seat passengers, 2 security people staring intently over the hood & a man at the back of the car apparently directing oncoming traffic around the vehicle. Real photo postcard with exemplary focus & contrast, excellent condition. Because the vehicle was a Rolls-Royce rival at the time, and because the Knozer firm photographed Austro-Hungarian royalty such as Zita, we suspect that the passengers are lower nobility (their attendants are not uniformed & the vehicle is not chauffeured, so it is not higher) & that this Photokarte was not mass-produced. The violet handstamp would simply tell the aristocratic family where they could get extra copies; Ruf means call & the phone number is sufficiently complex that the timeframe is the early 1920's. $45.00 aa
