Surely one of the most inaccessible places on earth; if you have ever seen a view of the village Bandiagara set against the Macina Mountains, with the cave entraces distant & high on the cliffs, you will believe it. The publisher, Fortier in Dakar Sénégal counted this amongst his best views, and added his advertising to the back of this example: "POST CARDS / Great choice of wiews(sic) and / natives of whole / West Africa. / COLLECTION FORTIER / on sale at FORTIER / CLOSE TO POST-OFFICE". Because of the error in the advertising, it is not likely that many were distributed like this. One of the best African postcards we have ever seen, and worthy of the finest collections of cemeteries or of French West Africa. $75.00 mfc
