PORT CRESCENT. "S. S. Sol Duc, the 16 knot steel steamship on / Seattle-Port Crescent run." unused color postcard, exceptionally fresh for its age. The ship was registered in 1912 to the Pacific Navigation Company. Port Crescent was destroyed by fire in the late 1920's. Originally Port Crescent was planned as a deep-water harbor for oceanic ships, such as timber cruisers destined for foreign ports, but the idea was abandoned as impractical for a number of reasons after some construction & settlement had commenced. $15.00 s(p)w(p)
